Ben Loyola calls Nye “a Profile in Cowardice”
March 22, 2010
Republican Congressional candidate Ben Loyola isn’t fooled in the least by Rep. Glenn Nye’s vote against health care takeover legislation.
“It’s a profile in cowardice,” said Loyola
“If Speaker Pelosi really needed him, he’d be there for her. If he really opposed this agenda, he would voice his opposition well before the votes were already rounded up.”
Instead, Nye waited until news reports counted that the votes to pass were assured within the Democratic House caucus before Nye announced his decision to vote no.
“There’s no other way to read it. Nye wanted to make sure it passed, and then announce to everyone how much he opposes it. It’s exactly the wrong kind of leadership.”
Loyola doesn’t think conservatives or independents will be fooled.
“Although it’s nice to see Glenn Nye vote the way Thelma Drake or even Ben Loyola would’ve voted, his latest “last minute” conservatism doesn’t fool anyone,” said Loyola.

Ben Loyola is a candidate for the Republican nomination in Virginia’s 2nd Congressional District. He’s a 25-year resident of Virginia Beach, US Naval Academy graduate, 30-year Navy veteran with combat experience, successful award winning businessman, and a true Conservative Reagan Republican.
