2010 is almost here, and I hope 2009 was a year of progress and success for you and your family. Gretchen and I know 2010 means the birth of our first child and the single greatest miracle we can hope and plan for. Believe me, the politics of a Congressional campaign rank a very distant second to family, faith and friends.
But the same calendar that tells me we’re changing to a new year also says another fundraising deadline is here. While money isn’t the most important part of a political campaign, contacting voters and making sure we nominate someone who is capable of defeating Glenn Nye is not without cost.
I believe I am the only candidate who can defeat Glenn Nye and return us back to a course of fiscal conservatism. His support of Speaker Nancy Pelosi, his vote for Barack Obama’s budget, and his fumbling leadership in military matters have hurt Virginia and hurt the Second District. On all three points, I have shown no wavering in judgment and have always been 100% opposed to the Obama/Pelosi agenda.
Winning means I need you. I need your prayers of support, your wise counsel and involvement, and I need your financial support. $25, $50, $100 – any contribution means more voters we can reach and will put us in position to defeat Glenn Nye in 2010.
