Tea Party Founder Endorses
Ben Loyola for Congress

May 16, 2010

Taxed Enough Already – that’s been a slogan for the movement that has motivated so many citizens to get involved and take back their government: the Tea Party. Town Hall meetings turned in to rallies, and election contests have turned into a rebirth of conservatism. From Scott Brown in Massachusetts to Marco Rubio in Florida and beyond, citizens are changing the dynamics of politics and reasserting Reagan conservatism.

That’s why I’m so excited to receive the support and endorsement of Hampton Roads Tea Party founder, leader and activist Karen Miner Hurd!

Karen understands that 2010 needs to be the year of real change, and her support means so much to me.

I firmly believe families and businesses are Taxed Enough Already. I think it’s not good enough to promise to ’hold the line on taxes.” We need to cut taxes. We need to free the people from taxation that chokes productivity and hurts the ability of free people to provide for themselves.

I’ve pledged to cut taxes across the board, to enact a federal hiring freeze like Reagan’s, to revitalize our national defense, to cut wasteful federal spending and move to a simpler, fairer tax system and away from the complex monstrosity that is our tax code. We’ll create private sector jobs and put the IRS out of work.

Thank you, Karen, for your support as we campaign across the Second District in the weeks ahead until the June 8th primary.

Here is Karen’s letter reprinted with her permission.

Personally, I am supporting Ben Loyola for Congress in the 2nd Congressional District. Ben is very pro-life, and has the strongest, most active stand on Life out of the current candidate field. He is intimately acquainted with the effects of leftist policies like those of the Obama administration/democratic party, and believes wholeheartedly in the second amendment, free markets and the rights of parents.

Ben is not the GOP establishment pick. Good. He is very strong on genuine immigration reform, and the war on terror.

If it’s OK for Rigell to take tax payer dollars in Cash for Clunkers to “save his business”, then why isn’t it OK for *anyone and everyone* to take money from the government (that’s YOUR money) for their old age, grocery bills, health maintenance, education, day care, business start ups, business failures, home improvements, on and on and on. We need to make it stop. We are only 5-8 years away from the total bankruptcy Greece is experiencing now.

I have been very troubled by Rigell’s comfort level with government handouts. Rigell is pro-life, but he’s apparently OK with government money for his industry.

Remember to vote June 8 in the primary. This is your chance to choose the candidate who will go against Glenn Nye (and Nancy Pelosi).
